UNLETTERED By RACHEL OSBORNE
Featuring SALLY PHILLIPS (Smack the Pony, I’m Alan Partridge, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Miranda) and KIRSTY BUSHELL (Motherland, Murder in Provence, The Dark Tower, King Lear – Duke of York Theatre)
Directed by NICKY ALLPRESS | Produced for UEA by STEVE WATERS
Sunday 23rd November 2025 | 7.30pm | UEA DRAMA STUDIO
In this new partnership project the festival and UEA have teamed up to launch a new platform for emerging authors, graduates and alumni.
Written by Norfolk-born Rachel Osborne, this compelling character study is a brand new dark comedy from an all-female creative team. Unlettered receives its first rehearsed reading at UEA as a part of the Autumn Festival’s 15th anniversary.
‘You’re not a visionary mystic. You’re a warmonger.’
Nina, a formidably caustic scriptwriter, is on the run, torn between seeking escape and inspiration in this vibrant Norfolk-based comedy. Debs - a seemingly stolid member of the rural community – is Nina’s unexpected AirBnB host, abounding in perceptive wit, and harbouring a long-held secret.
Directed by award-winning NICKY ALLPRESS | Credits include The Shape of Things, Ulster American, The Walworth Farce.
Tickets. £10/£7 Concs.
